The Cougars (7-6-4, 4-2-2) made their way to New Wilmington, PA to face the number one overall seed Westminster (12-5-2, 7-0-1) on Tuesday, November 5th. Making their fourth consecutive playoff appearance, Chatham entered the match never having advanced past the first round of the playoffs.
Chatham looked to bounce back after falling to Westminster in their previous matchup 1-0. The first half saw little action, as the Cougars would out shoot the Titans seven to four.
The second half started similar to the first, little offensive production but strong defensively play by both teams. Sophomore Paxton Steffy would break the 0-0 tie with a goal of her own in the 65th minute of the match. The Titans could not answer, as the Cougars would take down the Titans 1-0 for Chatham's first ever soccer playoff win in program history.
With their victory, the Cougars will move on to the championship game for the first time in the team's history. Chatham will travel to take on the Wolverines of Grove City this Saturday, November 9th for a chance to win the program's first-ever PAC championship.
