NOV. 16, 2019- Chatham (6-0) entered the second day of the tournament with two early morning matches against University of North Carolina and Georgetown University.
The Cougars had their way with the Tar Heels early on in the match, as first years Abdul Malik Khan, Mohammed Sadek and Alaaeldin Abdelkhalik each won their matches by 3-0 decisions. Match four would also go to the Cougars after a victory by sophomore Vinicius Muniz in straight sets. Chatham would go on to win the match 8-1 after match wins by senior Jeff Duclos and first year Cris Tejada.
Chatham would again jump out to an early lead over the Hoyas of Georgetown, after another three straight wins by Malik Khan, Sadek, and Abdelkhalik. Tejada would win a crucial match in the fifth spot by scores of 11-8, 11-5 and 11-8 respectively. That match victory proved to be the difference maker, as Chatham would drop the last four matches against Georgetown. The Cougars would still come out on top 5-4 in the overall match score.
Squash is back in action Friday, December 6th at 5 PM against Wesleyan in an out of town matchup.
