After a Defensive Dual, Cougars Fall to Geneva in Final Seconds

Box Score BEAVER FALLS, PA - October 16th, 2019 - The Chatham University men's soccer team took on Geneva College in a conference matchup. The Cougars fell to the Golden Tornadoes 1-0.

FOR THE RECORD
Chatham men's soccer (3-6-3, 0-2-2) traveled to Beaver Falls, PA to take on the Golden Tornadoes of Geneva College (5-7,1-1). Chatham fell to Washington and Jefferson in an offensive thriller Saturday October 12th by a final score of 5-4.
 
THE GIST OF IT
Both teams started the match off slow, with each team attempting five shots on goal in the first half. After a defensive battle by both opponents, they would enter the half tied 0-0. Ren Matsushita led the Cougars offensively with two shots on goal.
 
FINAL MOMENTS
The score remained tied well into the second half as both teams continued to battle it out defensively. As the final minutes ticked down, both teams found themselves in a draw still, until Geneva found the back of the net with ten seconds to play. The Cougars were unable to answer on a last second effort, and would come up on the short end of a 1-0 decision.
 
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The Cougars are back in action Saturday October 19th at 3:30 PM away against Grove City, followed by a home matchup at Ellis Field on Tuesday October 22nd at 7:30 PM against Westminster.
