Megan Sieg scores her 1,000th point at Geneva, Cougars win 91-79

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – JANUARY 9th, 2019 – A fourth quarter surge pushed the Chatham University women's basketball team past the Geneva Golden Tornadoes 91-79. With the win, Chatham improves to 8-8 overall and 4-3 PAC. 

Graduate student Megan Sieg scored her 1,000th career point early in the second quarter. Megan Sieg totaled 25 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Senior Katie Sieg led the team with a career-high 30 points, adding four rebounds, three steals and two assists. Katie Sieg went 10-of-11 from the charity stripe. Senior Ashley McClain put up 26 points, six rebounds and three assists. Senior Olivia Barkley grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.  

The first three quarters were a battle, seeing 21 lead changes and five tied scores. The Cougars were never behind more than six points. A fourth quarter surge would push Chatham past Geneva to secure the win. Once the Cougars took control, there was no looking back.
