PITTSBURGH, PA – Jan. 4, 2019 – The Cougars start 2019 strong with a victory against Anna Maria in a non-conference matchup tonight 7-5. Tonight's seven goals were the most goals in a single game in program history!
RECORDS: With the win, Chatham improves to 4-9 overall, while Anna Maria falls to 4-9-3 overall.

SCORING SUMMARY: Chatham got off to a strong start scoring two goals in the first period.
Michael Thamert put the Cougars on the board with a goal at 10:14 assisted by
Kirk Underwood and
Johan Allingmon. The next Chatham goal was scored by
Jason Bauer a minute later thanks to assists from
Derek Schrank and
Brett Reed.
Anna Maria scored just one goal in the first period.
Chatham had a dominating second period, scoring four goals. The first goal was scored just minutes into the second period by Thamert, assisted by Breda and
Eric Hildebrand. The second goal was scored minutes after by
Clay Plyler thanks to an assist from
Cory King. The third goal was a power-play goal scored at 09:30 by Thamert with an assist from
Chad Bell. The fourth and final goal of the period was scored at 13:28 by King thanks to an assist from
Tristan Simm.
The Amcats scored one goal in the second period.
In the third period, Chatham had an empty-net goal scored by Plyler assisted by Hildebrand.
Anna Maria had a quick third period, scoring three goals to try and secure the victory but fell short.
GOALTENDING: Matt Calas earned the win tonight for the Cougars. Calas recorded 25 saves, including 12 in the third period.
SHOTS LEADER: Underwood led the Cougar attack with seven shots.
FACE-OFFS: Chris Lutz won a team best 11 face-offs.
Jason Bauer finished with 10 wins in the face-off circle.
