PITTSBURGH, Pa. – JANUARY 3rd, 2018 – The Chatham University men's basketball team defeated PAC for Bethany 70-57 to start off 2019. With the win, the Cougars improve to 9-4 overall, 3-2 PAC.
Four Cougars scored double digits in Chatham victory tonight. Seniors
Isaiah Brown and
Alex Schoppen scored 15 point a piece. Schoppen added five rebounds while Brown recorded four steals, three assists and two rebounds. Senior
Will Sandherr picked up 12 points and seven rebounds. Senior
Anthony Bomar chipped in 11 points, four steals and four rebounds. First-year
Shawn Erceg led the team with nine rebounds. Senior
Marc Wells shot 4-for-5 from the field for eight points, on top of eight rebounds.
Chatham was down 33-32 heading into halftime. A second half surge pushed the Cougars past the Bison. In the final 20 minutes, Chatham shot 48% from the field and 67% from beyond the arc. The Cougars dominated the boards, outrebounding the Bison 44-27.
