Women’s Hockey Enjoys 4-0 Senior Day Victory Over King’s

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA. – Feb. 3, 2018 – The Chatham University women's hockey team enjoyed a 4-0 shutout victory over King's on Saturday afternoon at Alpha Ice Complex as the program celebrated Senior Day.
 
RECORDS: Chatham improves to 5-14-2 (2-12-0 UCHC) while the Lady Monarchs drop to 0-17-1 (0-11-1 UCHC).
 
WHAT'S NEXT: Following an off weekend from Feb. 9-10, the Cougars will then travel to Lebanon Valley to conclude the regular season from Feb. 16-17.
 
SENIOR DAY: Prior to Saturday's game, Chatham honored its six seniors: Cassidy Colhoun (Kincardine, Ont./Saugeen-Mailland Lightning), Emma McFarlane (Ottawa, Ont./Perth Predators), Lyndsey Gallaway (Wooster, Ohio/Ohio Flames), Kasandra Petersen (Faribault, Minn./Minnesota Blades), Marissa Janiga (East Aurora, N.Y./Buffalo Stars) and Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, Ont./Thunder Bay Queens).
 
SCORING SUMMARY: Petersen tallied an unassisted short-handed goal in the first period to move into sole possession of the most goals in single-season program history with her 12th of the year. Petersen also tacked on another goal in the second, assisted by Gallaway.
 
Sophomore forward Holly Ackerman (East Rockaway, N.Y./Brewster Academy) tacked on a first-period goal, thanks to assists by junior forward Michelle Jones (Scarborough, Ont./Barrie Sharks) and sophomore defender Cassandra Gray (Allen Park, Mich./Team Detroit), and junior forward Kristina Block (Scarborough, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy) scored her fourth goal of the weekend, an unassisted marker in the second period.
 
GOALTENDING: Isbell was forced to make 17 saves in the shutout victory.
 
SHOTS LEADER: Petersen paced the Cougar attack with 11 shots.
 
FACEOFFS: Sophomore forward Madison Black (Wexford, Pa./Pens Elite) won 11 draws.

Chatham added two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; hockey and lacrosse, as well as men's squash, starting in 2018-19.
