Cougars roll past Elmira 5-1

PITTSBURGH, PA – Dec. 7, 2018 – The Cougars roll past Elmira this evening 5-1.

RECORDS: With the win, Chatham improves to 2-7 overall, 2-4 UCHC while Elmira falls to 6-6 overall, 5-3 UCHC. 

WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham continues conference play at home Saturday night against Lebanon Valley. Puck drop is set for 7:10pm.

SCORING SUMMARY: Chatham got off to a strong start scoring three goals in the first period.

Matthew Ho put the Cougars on the board with a goal at 5:26 assisted by Tristan Simm and Andrew Breda. The next Chatham goal was scored by Eric Hildebrand at 13:45 thanks to assists from Kirk Underwood and Breda.The third goal of the period was scored by Michael Lamison at 17:44 thanks to assists from Daniel Cangelosi and Chad Bell.

The Elmira goal in the second period would be the only goal the Eagles scored.

In the third period, Chatham had two goals and both goals were scored by Lamison. The first goal at 16:46, unassisted and the second goal at 18:12 which was an empty-net goal.

GOALTENDING: Ricardo Gonzalez earned the win tonight for the Cougars. Gonzalez recorded 42 saves, including 18 saves in the second period.

SHOTS LEADER: Lamison led the Cougar attack with five shots.
 
FACE-OFFS: Cangelosi won a team best 12 face-offs. Cory King finished with eight wins in the face-off circle.
