PITTSBURGH, Pa. – DECEMBER 1st, 2018 – The Chatham University men's basketball team came back from a 15 point deficit to defeat the Yellow Jackets of Waynesburg 80-73. The Cougars improve to 4-2 overall, 1-1 PAC.
Four Cougars scored in double figures as
Will Sandherr scored a team-high 19 points while
Isaiah Brown added 18 points,
Alex Schoppen finished with 13 points and
Marc Wells recorded a 13 rebound, 11 point double-double. Brown and
Anthony Bomar chipped in five rebounds each.
Nasir Alexander led the team with three steals.
Waynesburg quickly took control of the game, maintaining the lead for 25 minutes straight. Two made free throws by
Marc Wells with under ten minutes to go in the game changed the pace for the Cougars. Chatham would keep the lead to finish the game 80-73. In the final ten minutes, the game saw three lead changes and two tied scores. The Cougars held a 41-33 rebound edge over the Yellow Jackets. Chatham converted on 19 Waynesburg turnovers for 23 points.
