PITTSBURGH, Pa. – NOVEMBER 20th, 2018 – The Chatham Cougars lost a 66-64 nail-biter tonight to the Bobcats of Frostburg State. With the loss, the Cougars move to 3-3 heading into conference play next week.
Despite a poor first quarter, the Cougars cut the Bobcat lead to just six heading into halftime. Chatham had a strong third quarter outscoring Frostburg State 20-11. Heading into the fourth, the score was 45-42 Chatham. In the final ten minutes, the game saw five lead changes and three tied scores. The Bobcats would secure the victory with a three-pointer in the final seconds.
For the sixth consecutive game, senior
Ashley McClain scored double figures. McClain finished with 15 points, three assists and two rebounds. Graduate student
Megan Sieg led the team in scoring with 18 points, shooting 5-of-9 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Sieg added four rebounds and two steals. First-year
Kaitlyn Fertig came off the bench for 17 points and five rebounds. Senior
Katie Sieg added 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Senior
Olivia Barkley chipped in four rebounds and four assists.
The Cougars shot 17-of-18 from the charity stripe for an impressive 94%.
