Thamert Tallies Power-Play Goal in 4-1 Loss to Lebanon Valley

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA. – Jan. 26, 2018 – First-year forward Michael Thamert (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Valley Jr. Warriors) enjoyed a power-play goal in Friday night's contest against Lebanon Valley, however, the Chatham University men's hockey team fell 4-1 at Frozen Pond Arena.
 
RECORDS: Chatham drops to 1-14-3 (1-9-0 UCHC) while the Flying Dutchmen improve to 7-7-2 (6-2-2 UCHC)
 
WHAT'S NEXT: Both teams will conclude the weekend series tomorrow at 7 pm, playing in the Dutchmen Outdoor Classic held at Hershey Park Stadium.
 
SCORING SUMMARY: Lebanon Valley coasted to a 4-0 lead before Thamert got the Cougars on the scoreboard at 13:11 in the third on the man advantage, thanks to an assist from first-year forward Kirk Underwood (Littleton, Colo./Connecticut Nighthawks), to make the contest 4-1.
 
GOALTENDING: Senior Morgan Hudson (Ottawa, Ont./Port Colborne) suffered the defeat despite making 42 saves, including 16 stops in the first period.
 
SHOTS LEADER: Sophomore forward Clay Plyer (Pittsburgh, Pa./New England Wolves) led the Chatham attack with six shots.
 
FACEOFFS: First-year forward Chris Lutz (Curtice, Ohio/Soo Eagles) led the Cougars with six faceoff wins.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. Chatham added two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; hockey and lacrosse, as well as men's squash, starting in 2018-19.
