PITTSBURGH, PA – Jan. 20, 2018 – Both first-year forwards
Eric Hildebrand (Robbinsville, N.J./East Coast Wizards) and
Cory King (Albuquerque, N.M./Oklahoma City Blazers) scored for the Chatham University men's hockey team on Saturday, but the Cougars fell to Stevenson 3-2 in UCHC action at Frozen Pond Arena.
RECORDS: With the loss, the Cougars fall to 1-13-3 (1-8-0 UCHC) while the Mustangs move to 7-6-6 (5-2-3 UCHC).
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham will host Lebanon Valley on Friday, Jan. 26 before traveling to Hershey Park Stadium to play in the Dutchmen Outdoor Classic on Saturday, Jan. 27.
SCORING SUMMARY: Much like yesterday, King scored the opening goal of the game, thanks to an assist by sophomore forward
Clay Plyler (Pittsburgh, Pa./New England Wolves) at 15:13 in the first, to give the Cougars a 1-0 edge.
However, the Mustangs answered back with three goals to take a 3-1 advantage before Hildebrand found the back of the net at 16:04 of the third for his first career score, off a feed by first-year forward
Alex Cerda (New Lenox, Ill./Long Beach Sharks).
GOALTENDING: Junior netminder
Trever Ralph (Red Bank, N.J./New Jersey Jr. Titans) suffered the loss despite making 25 stops, including nine saves in both the first and third periods.
SHOTS LEADER: First-year forward
Chris Lutz (Curtice, Ohio/Soo Eagles) fired off five shots to pace the Cougar attack.
FACEOFFS: First-year forward
Daniel Cangelosi (Rockaway, N.J./New England Wolves) won a game-high 19 draws for Chatham.
