Five Cougars score in double figures for overtime win over Yellow Jackets; 87-85

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – FEBRUARY 8th, 2017 – Five Cougars scored in double figures as Chatham defeated the Waynesburg Yellow Jacket in overtime 87-85.

  • Records: Chatham (9-13, 5-10 PAC) Waynesburg (6-16, 4-11 PAC)
  • Location: Athletics and Fitness Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.
 
Key Players
  • Sophomore Josh Randall (Mckees Rock, Pa./Montour) led Chatham in scoring with 20 points. Randall went 5-6 from the field and 2-2 from beyond the arc. He shot 8-11 from the charity stripe. Randall added three steals.
  • Sophomore Alex Schoppen (Gibsonia, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) was close behind with 19 points. Schoppen shot 7-8 from the free throw line. He tabbed three assists and three rebounds.
  • Sophomore Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark./North Pulaski) recorded 13 points.
  • Sophomore Logan Hunter (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) finished with 12 points. He went 4-4 from the free throw line.
  • Sophomore Nasir Alexander (Kissimmee, Fla./Osceola) earned 11 points.   
 
Inside the numbers
  • Chatham had a seven point lead heading into the half.
  • The Cougars earned 22 points off of 25 Yellow Jackets turnovers.
  • The bench scored 24 points for the team.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
