Strong fourth quarter not enough for Cougars to take down Presidents

Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. – FEBRUARY 3rd, 2017 – A strong fourth quarter was not enough to take down the W&J President as the Cougars fell 63-59.

Key Players
  • Leading the Cougars in scoring was sophomore Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) recording 22 points. Sieg finished with seven steals and five assists.
  • Sophomore Ashley McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) totaled 11 points, five rebounds and six steals.
  • Sophomore Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) earned 10 points in nine minutes shooting 2-3 from beyond the arc.
  • Senior Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) tabbed 13 rebounds.
 
Inside the numbers
  • In the first ten minutes of play, the game saw four tied scores and two lead changes. After the first quarter however, Chatham was unable to overcome W&J.
  • The Cougars forced 15 President turnovers.
  • The bench added 15 points for Chatham.

Women's sports at Chatham include basketball, cross country, ice hockey, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, track & field, and volleyball. Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
