Chatham Triumphs Over the Thiel Tomcats

Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – FEBRUARY 18TH, 2017 – The Chatham Cougars triumphed over the Thiel College Tomcats 67-54 in the last game of their season.

Key Players
  • Sophomore Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) finished the game with 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 steals.  
  • Sophomore Natalie Knab (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona High School) also led the Cougars in scoring with 19 points which consisted of six 3-pointers.
  • Senior Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) closed the game with 13 points and nine rebounds.

  • The Cougars were up one point at the end of the first quarter.
  • Chatham forced 18 Thiel turnovers for 24 points.
  • The Cougars out-rebounded the Thiel Tomcats a remarkable 47-29 with 22 offensive rebounds and 25 defensive rebounds.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. The athletic program is housed on Chatham's historic and beautiful Shadyside Campus in the $18 million, 74,000 square foot Athletic and Fitness Center (AFC). Women's sports at Chatham include basketball, cross country, ice hockey, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, track & field, and volleyball. Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
