Wolverines Push Past Cougars in Final Seconds

Box Score GROVE CITY, Pa. – FEBRUARY 1ST, 2017 – The Chatham Cougars lost in the final seconds to the Grove City Wolverines 62-59.    
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (8-12, 4-9 PAC) Grove City (9-11, 5-8 PAC)
  • Location: Connor Center at Thomas More College.
 
Key Players
  • Leading the Cougars in scoring was sophomore Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark./North Pulaski) with 20 points. Brown went 8-14 from the field.
  • Sophomore Nasir Alexander (Kissimmee, Fla./Osceola) finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Alexander shot 100% from the field shooting 7-7 and 3-3 from beyond the arc.  
 
Inside the numbers
  • The Cougars and Wolverines battled it out seeing seven lead changes and five tied scores.
  • Chatham scored 12 points off of fast breaks.
  • A strong Cougar defense forced Grove City to shoot just 25% from beyond the arc.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
