Women's Hockey Ties at Aurora 1-1

Box Score AURORA, Ill. – Dec. 9 2017 – The Chatham University women's hockey team tied with host Aurora University 1-1 in non-conference action on Saturday evening.

RECORDS: The Cougars move to 3-7-1 overall while the Spartans move to 2-10-1 on the year.

WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham will enjoy the holiday break before returning to action on Jan. 5-6 at Trine.

SCORING SUMMARY: First-year forward Dahea Chung (Centreville, Va./Reston Raiders) tallied her first-career goal at 5:02 of the first period, thanks to assists from sophomore forward Holly Ackerman (East Rockaway, N.Y./Brewster Academy) and junior forward Michelle Jones (Scarborough, Ont./Barrie Sharks), to give Chatham the early 1-0 lead.

The Cougars would hold that lead for the entire game until late in the third period when the Spartans knotted the contest up at 1-1 to force overtime.

GOALTENDING: Senior netminder Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, Ont./Thunder Bay Queens) made 21 stops in between the pipes.

SHOTS LEADER: Senior forward Cassidy Colhoun (Kincardine, Ont./Saugeen-Mailland Lightning) led the Chatham offense with seven shots.

FACEOFFS: Colhoun won a game-high 16 draws.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. Chatham added two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse, as well as men's squash, starting in 2018-19.
