Men’s Hockey Falls at Neumann 3-1 in Program Debut

ASTON, Pa. – Nov. 3, 2017 – The Chatham University men's hockey team fell at Neumann 3-1 in the program's first-ever contest on Friday night.
 
RECORDS: The Cougars fall to 0-1-0, 0-1-0 UCHC while the Knights improve to 1-2-0, 1-0-0 UCHC.
 
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham travels to UCHC foe Stevenson tomorrow at 5:30 pm.
 
PROGRAM FIRST: Sophomore forward Jace Burton (Aurora, Ill./Philadelphia Junior Flyers) tallied the lone goal for the Cougars – the first in program history. Ironically, Burton played his freshman season at Neumann, scoring against his former squad.
 
Burton tallied a power-play goal at 16:06 in the first, thanks to assists from first-year forward Cory King (Albuquerque, N.M./Oklahoma City Blazers) and junior defender Ben Perron (Highland, Vt./New England Wolves).
 
OFFENSIVE STATS: The Cougars fired off 37 shots, led by four shots from first-year forward Kevin Fees (Findlay, Ohio/Wichita Falls).
 
IN NET: Senior goaltender Morgan Hudson (Ottawa, Ont./Port Colborne) was forced to make 47 saves against the Knights.

About Chatham Athletics 
Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. Chatham added two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse, as well as men's squash, starting in 2018-19.
