Chatham Defeats Bethany

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – OCTOBER 8th, 2017 – The Chatham Cougars defeated the Bethany Bison.

  • Records: Chatham (8-3 overall, 2-1 PAC) Bethany (4-9 overall, 2-1 PAC)
  • Location: Ellis Field in Pittsburgh, Pa.  
 
How it happened
  • The Cougars outshot the Bison 19-4 with 15 shots on goal.
  • Chatham forced eight corner kicks to Bethany's one.
  • Junior Julie Bruening (Madison, Ohio/Madison) scored the game winning goal at 71:03 with an assist from junior Katie Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic).
  • Bruening led the team with five shots on goal.
  • Sieg and sophomore Tina Lett (Fredricksburg, Va./Courtland) each tallied three shots.
 
In the goal
  • First Year Ashley Bergman (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) was in the net for the Cougars. She made two saves with zero goals against for her fourth shutout of the season.
  • Chatham's defense held Bethany to just two shots on goal.

  • Chatham is on the road this week first to W&J on October 11th and then to Thomas More on October 14th.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
