COLUMBUS, Ohio – Oct. 7, 2017 – For the second time this week, the Chatham University women's volleyball team trailed early on and came from behind to win the match, this time at host Capital University on Saturday, defeating the Crusaders 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 11-25, 25-22, 15-13).
RECORDS: Chatham improves to 10-8 overall as the Cougars eclipsed double-digit wins for the first time since 2004. Chatham is 2-1 in five-set matches this season. Capital, meanwhile, drops to 9-14.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars remain on the road, playing at PAC foe Bethany on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 7 pm before heading to PAC opponent Waynesburg on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 12 pm.
LEADING THE ATTACK: Sophomore outside hitter
Justyne Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Armstrong) enjoyed a solid match, with a contest-high 17 kills (.267) to go along with 16 digs and three block assists. Junior middle hitter
Mckenzie Bonnett (Champaign, Ill./Centennial) tallied 15 kills (.393).
DISTRIBUTION LINE: Sophomore setter
Mckenzie Bates (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) dished out a match-high 35 assists to go along with 11 digs.
BACK ROW PLAY: Sophomore outside hitter
Belen Brown (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) led the Cougars with 17 digs while first-year defensive specialist
Makenah Zitko (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) tallied 14 digs.
