PITTSBURGH, PA. – Oct. 28, 2017 – The Chatham University women's volleyball team is headed to the 2017 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament for the first time in program history after Saturday's 3-1 victory over visiting Saint Vincent College, defeating the Bearcats 25-9, 23-25, 25-17, and 25-20.
RECORDS: Chatham improves to 17-10, 8-10 PAC and earned the No. 6 seed in the upcoming PAC Tournament, with the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at No. 3 seed Bethany with time TBA. Saint Vincent ends the year at 12-17, 5-13 PAC.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars will head to Bethany in the quarterfinals on Oct. 31 as both teams split the regular season, with Chatham most recently winning 3-2 on the road on Oct. 10. The semifinals and finals will be hosted by No. 1 seed Thomas More on Nov. 3-4.
SENIOR DAY CELEBRATION: Senior middle blocker
Iman Morgan (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) and her family were honored in a pre-game ceremony, thanking Iman for her dedication to the program over the past four seasons.
LEADING THE ATTACK: Sophomore outside hitter
Justyne Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Armstrong) tallied a match-high 20 kills (.360) on 50 swings and also led the Cougars with 20 digs.
Junior middle blocker Mckenzie Bonnett (Champaign, Ill./Centennial) enjoyed 10 kills and six total blocks while first-year middle blocker
Elivia Wagner (Erie, Pa./McDowell) floored six kills (.385) and a match-high five aces.
DISTRIBUTION LINE: Sophomore setters Mckenzie Bates (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) and
Brooke Petrillo (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) paced the Chatham attack with 22 and 18 assists, respectively.
Petrillo chipped in 12 digs while Bates tallied five.
BACK ROW PLAY: Sophomore libero
Sydney Stevens (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) notched 13 digs to go along with four aces and two assists.
