Second half goal pushes Chatham past Saint Vincent

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – OCTOBER 21ST, 2017 – A second half goal pushed the Chatham Cougars past the Saint Vincent Bearcats.

  • Records: Chatham (10-5 overall, 4-3 PAC) Saint Vincent (1-13-1 overall, 1-6 PAC)
  • Location: Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa.  
 
How it happened
  • The Cougars outshot the Bearcats 17-6.
  • First year Kyla Kelley (Tarentum, Pa./Highlands) scored the game winning goal at 54:22 off of a header, assisted by sophomore Emily Nolan (Imperial, Pa./West Allegheny).
  • Kelley led the team with six shots and three shots on goal.
  • Junior Katie Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) and junior Katherine Luteri (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) each tallied three shots.
 
In the goal
  • First Year Ashley Bergman (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) was in the net for the Cougars. She earned her seventh career shutout.
  • Bergman faced zero shots on goal thanks to the strong Chatham defense.  
 
Up next
  • Chatham hosts Thiel on October 25th for their final home match and senior night at Highmark Stadium.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
