PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Oct. 1, 2017 – The Chatham University women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (21-25, 14-25, 18-25) setback to visiting Thomas More in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) on Sunday afternoon in the AFC.
RECORDS: Chatham falls to 7-8, 1-8 PAC while Thomas More improves to 16-4, 8-0 PAC.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars start a five-match road trip, starting on Wednesday, Oct. 4 against Franciscan and PAC opponent Geneva in Beaver Falls. The Saints will participate in the Active Ankle Invite from Oct. 6-7 in St. Louis, Missouri.
ALUMNI GAME: Following today's match with the Saints, the Cougars held an Alumni Game at 3 pm.
LEADING THE ATTACK: Sophomore outside hitter
Justyne Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Armstrong) led the Cougars with 10 kills while first-year middle blocker
Elivia Wagner (Erie, Pa./McDowell) chipped in with six kills, hitting .308.
DISHING & DIGGING: Sophomore setter
Mckenzie Bates (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) orchestrated the offense with 14 assists and chipped in with 10 digs on the defensive end. Sophomore libero
Sydney Stevens (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) tallied 10 digs from the back row.
GOOD START: The Cougars led 15-12 in the first set but were unable to keep the lead as the Saints gained control of the match.
