Chatham Falls Short to W&J

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – JANUARY 7th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars hosted the Presidents of W&J in a conference match up. The strong first half was not quite enough for the Cougars to get the win.

  • Records: Chatham (7-5 overall, 2-4 PAC) W&J (9-4 overall, 6-0 PAC)

Key Players
  • Leading the Cougars in scoring was Sophomore Ashley McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area Senior) with 23 points for the second game in a row. McClain grabbed five rebounds.
  • Sophomore Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) finished with a double-double recording 17 points and 10 rebounds. She added five assists and one block.  
  • Senior Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) tabbed the team high 12 rebounds along with nine points.
 
Inside the numbers
  • The Cougars would get off to a strong start leading the game 41-36 at the half.
  • The game was back and forth seeing eight lead changes and nine tied scores.
  • Chatham would earn 16 second chance points and eight points off of President turnovers.

  • The Cougars are back on the court January 11th at Geneva College.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
