Cougars Down Presidents

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – JANUARY 7th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars defeated the Washington and Jefferson Presidents 77-69. The Cougars are now 6-6 in Division III play and have the most wins in program history.    
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (6-7, 2-4 PAC) Wash. & Jeff. (0-13, 0-6 PAC)
  • Location: Athletics and Fitness Center of Chatham University.
 
Key Players
  • Leading the Cougars in scoring was sophomore Josh Randall (Mckees Rock, Pa./Montour) with a career high 23 points. Randall shot 54% from the field and went 8-9 from the free throw line. He added seven rebounds and two steals.  
  • Sophomore Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark./North Pulaski) and junior Logan Hunter (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) each chipped in 12 points apiece.
  • Hunter grabbed his first double-double of the season with 12 rebounds.
  • Sophomore Anthony Bomar (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) led the team in assists with six. Bomar tallied five rebounds and went 5-6 from the free throw line.  
 
Inside the numbers
  • Chatham came back from a 12 point deficit in the beginning of the first half to have the lead 36-31 by halftime.
  • The Cougars went on to outscore the Presidents 41-38 in the second half.
  • Chatham outrebounded W&J 39-35.
  • The bench scored 33 points for the team.
  • Chatham earned 25 points off of 15 President turnovers.

  • Chatham will be back on the court January 11th at Geneva College to take on the Golden Tornadoes at 7:30 pm.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
