Cougars defeat Waynesburg 71-65 in first PAC win of the season

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – JANUARY 5th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars defeated the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets 71-65 in OT for their first PAC win of the season.   
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (5-7, 1-4 PAC) Waynesburg (4-8, 2-3 PAC)
  • Location: Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse at Waynesburg University.
 
Key Players
  • Leading the Cougars in scoring was Sophomore Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark./North Pulaski) finishing with 23 points. Brown added three rebounds, three assists and three steals.  
  • Sophomore Nasir Alexander (Kissimmee, Fla./Osceola) went 3-4 from beyond the arc recording 12 points. He earned three rebounds and three steals as well.
  • Junior Logan Hunter (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) chipped in nine points and five rebounds.
  • Sophomore Anthony Bomar (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) led the team in rebounds with seven. Bomar also tallied seven points, four rebounds and three steals.
 
Inside the numbers
  • While Waynesburg led Chatham for the majority of the game, they were never ahead by more than nine points.
  • The game saw seven tied scores and three lead changes.
  • The Cougars were down 25-22 at the half but would outscore the Yellow Jackets 39-36 in the second half.
  • Chatham finished strong in the forced overtime scoring 10 points to Waynesburg's four.
  • The Cougars scored 19 points off of 21 forced Yellow Jacket turnovers.
  • The bench would total 14 points and the team would earn 11 second chance points.
