Chatham Swept by Buffalo State

Box Score PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – JANUARY 28TH, 2017 – The Chatham Cougars fell to the Buffalo State Bengals 6-1.   
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (5-13-1, 0-11-1 ECAC West) Buffalo State (13-5-1, 8-4 ECAC West)
  • Location: Alpha Ice Complex in Pittsburgh, Pa.
 
How it happened
  • The Bengals would be the first on the board with two goals in the first period.
  • Jillian Rowland would start off the scoring in the second period with an unassisted goal at 6:42. This would be the only goal for the Cougars.
  • Buffalo State would go on to score three goals in the second period and one final goal in the third period.
  • Erika Martin led Chatham with five shots on goal.
  • Rowland and Marissa Janiga each finished with four shots.
  • Kasandra Petersen would chip in three shots.
  • Jenny Jones won eight faceoffs.
  • The Cougars outshot the Bengals 9-2 in the final period.
 
In the goal
  • Tara Riley would be in net for the entire 60 minutes. She recorded 17 saves and six goals against.

  • Chatham will be back on the ice next weekend when they travel to Utica.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
