Cougars defeated by Bears

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – January 21th, 2017 – Chatham tied the contest at 2-2 with 2:25 remaining, but Potsdam pulled off the victory after scoring with 1:22 left, 3-2.

  • Records: Chatham (0-9-1 ECAC West, 5-11-1 overall) SUNY Potsdam (6-3-1 ECAC West, 10-6-1 overall)

How it happened
  • Junior Cassidy Colhoun (Kincardine, ONT/Kincardine District Secondary School) opened the scoring for the Cougars with 1:13 remaining in the first period. It was her eighth of the season, assisted by junior defensemen Kasandra Petersen (Fairbault, MN/Minnesota Blades), her ninth helper of the year.
  • Senior Erika Martin (Fairbanks, AK/Team Alaska) scored the goal to notch the game at 2-2. For Martin, it was her 23rd career goal and now holds the all-time Chatham record for goals in a career.
 
In the goal
  • Junior goalie Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, ONT/Thunder Bay Queens) played very well in the loss, stopping 24 of 27 Bear shots in 58:51.
Up next
  • The Cougars return to home ice on Friday, when they welcome the visiting Buffalo State Bengals. Friday's game starts at 5:30 pm.

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
