Cougars Conquer Tomcats

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – JANUARY 14th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars conquered the Thiel Tomcats 67-64.

  • Records: Chatham (9-5 overall, 4-4 PAC) Thiel (4-10 overall, 1-7 PAC)
  • Location: Athletics and Fitness Center at Chatham University.
 
Key Players
  • Leading the Cougars in scoring was sophomore Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) who recorded 26 points. Sieg had seven steals, six rebounds and two assists.
  • Junior Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) added 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
  • Senior Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and sophomore Ashley McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) tallied 12 points apiece.
  • Hinkle recorded her second double-double of the season with 12 rebounds.
  • McClain finished with five rebounds and four steals.   
 
Inside the numbers
  • This game was a battle with three lead changes and seven tied scores.
  • Chatham earned 24 points off of 24 forced Thiel turnovers.
  • The Cougars would get 16 second chance points.
  • Chatham outrebounded Thiel 39-34.

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
