Cougars Take Down Golden Tornadoes 81-69

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – JANUARY 11th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars took down the Geneva Golden Tornadoes 81-69 for their third PAC win of the season.
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (8-5 overall, 3-4 PAC) Geneva (4-10 overall, 1-6 PAC)
  • Location: Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa.
 
Key Players
  • Sophomore Ashley McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) and sophomore Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) led the Cougars to victory with 25 points apiece.
  • McClain added five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
  • Sieg went 8-15 from the field and shot 100% from beyond the line and at the free throw line. She pulled down eight rebounds and four steals.
  • Junior Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) chipped in 18 points, three assists and two steals.
  • Senior Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) led the team in rebounds with nine.  
 
Inside the numbers
  • Chatham took the lead early in the first quarter and would continue to outscore Geneva the entire game.
  • The largest Cougar lead came in the third quarter when they were up by 17 points.
  • Chatham earned 21 points off of 16 forced Golden Tornado turnovers.

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
