Chatham Hosts Tri-Match

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, Pa - SEPTEMBER 7th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars hosted a tri-match this evening that included La Roche College and Westminster College.

Game 1 La Roche 3, Chatham 0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-23)

How it happened

As a team, Chatham recorded 16 kills, 132 digs, and eight blocks.

At the net

First Year Justyne Lasher (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong) led the team with 12 kills.
Sophomore Maggie Fleiner (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour High School) added two kills.
Defending the net for the Cougars were Fleiner, Lasher and First Year Tessa Verner (Leechburg, Pa./Leechburg). Fleiner recorded three blocks while Lasher and Verner each added two.

Setting it up

First Year Brooke Petrillo (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) recorded a team high 22 assists.
Sophomore Emily Brozenick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carlynton Jr-Sr High School) had 18 assists.
Junior Rachel Kolar (Pittsburgh, Pa./West Mifflin Area High School) added four assists.

Defending the court

First Year Sydney Stevens (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) led the team with 49 digs.
Lasher not only found success at the net but in the back row as she recorded 32 digs.
First Year Belen Brown (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) contributed 25 digs.

Game 2 Westminster 3, Chatham 0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-11)

How it happened

The Cougars totaled nine kills, 118 digs, and one block.

At the net

Lasher and Brown both contributed three kills each.
Sophomore Katelyn Gonos (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt High School) had two kills this match.
Kolar recorded Chatham's sole block.

Setting it up

Brozenick led the team with 11 assists.
Petrillo chipped in 6 assists.

Defending the court

Stevens again played a major role in the back line, racking up 34 digs.
Lasher and Brown each added 31 digs.
