Cougars Defeat Bobcats 1-0

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa - SEPTEMBER 7th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars defeated the Pitt Greensburg Bobcats this evening with a final score of 1-0.

The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (2-0-1 overall) Pitt Greensburg (1-2 overall)
  • Location: Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa.

How it happened
  • Sophomore Julie Bruening (Madison, Ohio/Madison HS) scored her first goal of the season 20 minutes into the first half. Junior Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic HS) had the assist.
  • The Cougars outshot the Bobcats 17-3. Bruening led the team with four shots. Sophomore Anne Radzanowski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley High School) followed close with three shots. Chatham ended the game with 10 shots on frame.
  • A strong defensive backline helped the Cougars to shutout Pitt Greensburg. Pitt Greensburg was held to only 2 shots on goal.

In the goal
  • First Year Elayna Burdelski started for the Cougars and played the entire first half.
  • Sophomore Emmory Tardivo came into the action for the second half making the only two Cougar saves for the night.

Up next
  • Chatham travels to Hamburg, NY this weekend to take on Hilbert College September 10th at 1 pm.

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
