Cougars Sweep Yellow Jackets

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa - SEPTEMBER 27th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars are on a three game winning streak for the first time in school history after sweeping the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets. Waynesburg is now the second conference win for the Cougars.

On the court

The Cougars beat the Yellow Jackets with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 25-21.
As a team, Chatham posted 37 kills, 38 digs and seven aces.

At the net

First Year Justyne Lasher (Kittaning, Pa./Armstrong) tied her season high 21 kills this match. Lasher led the team with three service aces as well.
First Year Belen Brown (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) chipped in six kills. Brown tallied one block.
First Year Mckenzie Bates (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster HS) and Sophomore Emily Brozenick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carlynton Jr/Sr HS) each contributed two service aces.

Assisting the attack

Bates finished with 17 assists.
Brozenick added 10 assists.

Defending the court

Sydney Stevens (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway HS) led the backline with 11 digs.
Brown collected nine digs.

Up next

The Cougars travel down the road to Carlow University on Thursday, September 29^th at 7 pm when they take on the Celtics in a nonconference matchup.
