Cougars Volleyball Team Fights Hard but Falls 1-3

Box Score Pittsburgh, PA- September 1, 2016- In their season opener, the Cougars Women's Volleyball team fought hard throughout the 4 sets they played, but in the end lost 1-3 to the Marietta College Pioneers. The Cougars won the second set at 25-18, while the Pioneers won the other three sets: the first set 25-17, the third set 28-26, and the fourth set 25-19.

First Year Justyne Lasher (Kittanning, PA / Armstrong) led the Cougars offensively with 12 kills adding to the Cougars' 32 total kills and was also a crucial part defensively with 15 digs. First year Belen Brown (Monaca, PA / Central Valley) led the team defensively with 20 digs adding to the Cougars' total digs of 68. First Year Brooke Petrillo (Derry, PA / Derry Area) finished the game with 12 assists the most assists out of the Cougars'.

The Cougars are back in action tomorrow at the La Roche College Tournament. Playing against La Roche College Redhawks at 5:00 PM and the Hiram College Terriers at 6:30 PM.
