Men's Basketball

Cougars Bow Out Of PAC Tournament At Saint Vincent; 80-65

Box Score LATROBE, PA. – FEBRUARY 23rd, 2016 -- The Chatham University Men's Basketball Team traveled to Saint Vincent College this evening to take on the number one seed Bearcats in the PAC Tournament Quarterfinals. A strong second half was not enough for the Cougars to compete with the Bearcats. Chatham would fall 80-65.

First Year Josh Randall would lead the Cougars in scoring with an impressive 18 points. Randall shot 7 of 9 for field goals, and 3-3 from beyond the arc. Randall would also collect 1 assist and 2 steals. Sophomore Logan Hunter finished with 10 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. First Year Anthony Bomar led the team in rebounds with 5. Bomar also had 9 points and 3 assists.

At halftime, Saint Vincent would lead 39-19. The Cougars were able pick up the momentum and cut the Bearcat lead from 27 points to just 10 late in the second half. Chatham forced 19 Saint Vincent turnovers for 15 points. The Cougars outscored Saint Vincnet 46-41 in the second half but unfortunately it was not enough to take down the veteran Bearcats.

This will wrap up the inaugural season of Chatham Men's Basketball. Head Coach Andrew Garcia and his young team finish the season with a 5-21 record overall and a 4-14 President's Athletic Conference record. This was quite a season for Chatham! Not only did the Cougars find their first ever win on December 20th at Washington and Jefferson College, but they earned their first ever playoff win in the first round of the PAC Tournament against Geneva College.

The Chatham Men's Basketball team made their own records this season. First Year Alex Schoppen led the team in scoring with 295 points. First Year Anthony Bomar grabbed a team high 133 rebounds. Bomar also leads the team by a landslide in assists with 103 this season. First Year Nasir Alexander leads the team in steals with 44.
