Chatham Takes Home First Ever PAC Playoff Game; 74-64

Box Score BEAVER FALLS, PA. – FEBRUARY 22nd, 2016 -- The Chatham University Men's Basketball Team traveled to Geneva College this evening to take on the Golden Tornadoes in the first round of the 2015-16 PAC Tournament. History was made as the Cougars earned their first ever PAC Tournament win by defeating Geneva 74-64.
 
Three Cougars would score double figures to lead the team to victory. First Year Alex Schoppen (Gibsonia, Pa. / Pittsburgh Central Catholic) finished the game with a team high 17 points. Schoppen would also have 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Sophomore Logan Hunter (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield Area) chipped in 15 points (7-12 FG). First Year Anthony Bomar (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park) would add 11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal.
 
In the beginning of the first half, the game was back and forth. The score would be tied 5 times and the lead would change 6. At half time Chatham led 39-29. After gaining the lead in the first half, Chatham continued to stay ahead the rest of the game. Their largest lead was by 19 points 7 minutes into the second half. The Cougars had a confident mindset all night. Even when Geneva cut the lead from 19 points back to 2, the young group did not panic. They stayed composed and found a way to finish the game up by 10 points. Chatham played aggressive, forcing 17 Golden Tornado turnovers for 24 points.
 
The Men will continue on to the quarterfinals when they travel to Saint Vincent College to take on the number one seed Bearcats. The game is set for Tuesday, February 23rd at 7 pm.
