Chatham Takes Down Geneva; 74-70

Box Score BEAVER FALLS, PA. – FEBRUARY 13th, 2016 -- The Chatham University Women's Basketball team traveled to Geneva College to take on the Golden Tornadoes this evening. The Cougars were able to come back from a 14 point deficit to win the game 74-70. Chatham is now 10-13 overall and 6-10 in the conference.

Three Cougars finished the game with more than ten points. First Year Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Serra Catholic) had yet another game where she led the Cougars across the board. Sieg finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Senior Rachel McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa. / Hollidaysburg) scored 14 points as well. Junior Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa. / Thomas Jefferson) contributed to the Cougar victory adding 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Junior Dana Eastman (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) was able to go 3-3 from beyond the arc to give Chatham 9 points in just 4 minutes of playing time.

After the first period, the Cougars were tied with the Golden Tornadoes 18-18, but by halftime the Cougars were down 12 points with a score of 42-30. Chatham was able to overcome a 14 point deficit after gaining the lead early in the second half of the game. Once the Cougars took the lead, they were able to keep the momentum up to win the game. The Cougars outscored Geneva 44-28 in the second half.

The Cougars are back on the court this Wednesday, February 17th, when they host the Thomas More Saints. The Saints are undefeated this season and currently number one in the PAC standing. Tipoff is set for 5:30 pm.
