Chatham defeats Lebanon Valley for third win in a row

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – DECEMBER 4^th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars took down the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen today 6-1 in the final game of the weekend series. The Cougars are on a three game winning streak!

How it happened

Chatham outshot Lebanon Valley 60-11.
Sophomore Kirajean Frost (Harvard, Mass. / Boston Shamrocks) put the Cougars on the board five minutes into the game with an assist from sophomore Michelle Jones (Scarborough, ONT / Barrie Sharks PWHL).
The Flying Dutchmen would score their only goal for the day at 12:02 in the first period.
Sophomore Kristina Block (Scarborough, Maine / North Yarmouth Academy) posted her first of two goals at 15:59 in the first period unassisted.
In the second period, senior McKenzie Haskins (Anchorage, Ala. / Team Alaska) scored for the Cougars assisted by junior Kasandra Petersen (Faribault, Minn. / Minnesota Blades).
The fourth goal of the game was Block assisted by senior Erika Martin (Fairbanks, Ala. / Team Alaska).
Haskins would score again at 14:44 in the third period with assists from Petersen and Martin.
Junior Marissa Janiga (East Aurora, N.Y. / Buffalo Stars) scored the final goal for Chatham unassisted.
Every Cougar on the ice took a shot against Lebanon Valley.
Junior Cassidy Colhoun (Kincardine, ONT / Saugeen-Mailland Lightning) and Petersen led Chatham in shots with eight apiece.
Sophomore Jillian Rowland and Janiga finished with seven shots each.
The Cougars overpowered the Dutchmen in faceoffs 48-14.

In the goal

First Year goaltender Tara Riley (Windsor, N.Y. / Skaneateles U19) was in the goal again for the Cougars. She made 10 saves with one goal against.
