Cougars Ring in New Year with a Win

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – DECEMBER 31st, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars defeated Mount Aloysius 73-57 this afternoon.   
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (6-3 overall, 1-2 PAC) Mount Aloysius (4-6 overall)
  • Location: Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, Pa.
 
Key Players
  • Junior Megan Sieg led the Cougars in scoring with 22 points. She shot an impressive 89% from the field. Sieg also added four rebounds, six assists and two steals.
  • Sophomore Katelyn Sieg finished with 17 Cougar points, eight rebounds and three assists.
  • Sophomore Ashley McClain recorded 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
  • Senior Jesse Hinkle earned yet another double-double for the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Sophomore Maggie Soeder and sophomore Natalie Knab each chipped in five rebounds. Knab finished with four assists as well.
 
Inside the numbers
  • After the a slow first quarter the Cougars were down 19-14 but would rally, going on to outscore Mount Aloysius 59-38 in the remainder of the game.
  • Chatham earned 11 points off of 14 MAC turnovers.
  • The bench scored 16 points for Chatham.
 
Up next
  • The Cougars are coming off of a two game winning streak as they host the Saints of Thomas More on January 3rd at 6 pm in the AFC.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
