Chatham Defeats Westminster 69-62

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – DECEMBER 3RD, 2016 – The Chatham women's basketball team overpowered Westminster 69-62 to earn their first conference win of the season.  
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (4-2 overall, 1-1 PAC) Westminster (3-3 overall, 0-2 PAC)
  • Location: Buzz Ridl Gymnasium at Westminster College.
 
Key Players
  • Leading the Cougars in scoring was sophomore guard Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) finishing with 25 points, five rebounds and four steals. Sieg went 8-14 from the field and 9-9 at the free throw line.
  • Sophomore guard Natalie Knab (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) posted 18 points, four steals and two assists.
  • Junior guard Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) recorded eight points, four rebounds and two steals.
  • Senior forward Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) led the Cougars in rebounds with nine. Hinkle also chipped in two assists and two steals.
  • Junior forward Eden Bloom (Armagh, Pa./United) added seven rebounds and four steals.
 
Inside the numbers
  • The Cougars fought hard to come out on top as the game saw seven lead changes and two ties.
  • Chatham scored 31 points off of 28 forced Westminster turnovers.
  • The Cougars finished strong outscoring the Titans by 14 points in the final quarter.

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
