Chatham loses in first PAC game of the season

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – NOVEMBER 30th, 2016 – The Chatham men's basketball team fell to Saint Vincent 87-53 in the first PAC game of the season.  
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (2-3, 0-1 PAC) Saint Vincent (4-3, 1-0 PAC)
  • Location: Carey Center at Saint Vincent College.
 
Key Players
  • Junior guard Logan Hunter (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield Area) finished with the team high 13 points. He went 4-4 from the free throw line.
  • Sophomore guard Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark./North Pulaski) was close behind with 12 points. Brown grabbed five rebounds and two steals as well.
  • Sophomore guard Ian Schrenk (Bellevue, Pa./Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) totaled eight points and four rebounds in just six minutes of playing time.
  • Sophomore point guard Nasir Alexander (Kissimmee, Fla./Osceola) and sophomore point guard Anthony Bomar (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) each chipped in four rebounds. Alexander recorded six points while Bomar finished with three steals.   
 
Inside the numbers
  • The Cougars would take the lead in the first few plays of the game but were unable to keep up with the Bearcats after that.
  • The second half was much closer as the Bearcats only outscored the Cougars by seven points. 
  • The Cougars scored eight points off of 13 forced Bearcat turnovers.
  • The bench scored 19 points for the team.

  • The Cougars are back in action December 3rd when they take on the Titans of Westminster in New Wilmington, Pa.

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
