Hinkle Leads Cougars to Victory

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – NOVEMBER 22nd, 2016 – The women's basketball team defeated the Pitt Greensburg Bobcats 70-57.  
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (3-1) Pitt Greensburg (1-3)
  • Location: Athletics and Fitness Center at Chatham University.
 
Key Players
  • Senior Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) led the Cougars in scoring with 19 points. Hinkle went 8-11 from the field. She grabbed four rebounds and two steals as well.
  • Sophomore Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic), sophomore Ashley McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area Senior) and senior Nikki Ingel (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) would each chip in 11 points for Chatham.
  • Sieg led the team in rebounds with 11 total. She also had three assists, three steals and three blocks.
  • McClain earned four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
  • Junior Eden Bloom (Armagh, Pa. / United) finished with four rebounds and two steals.
 
Inside the numbers
  • The Cougars took the lead in the first period and were able to outscore the Bobcats each period.
  • Chatham would earn 16 second chance points off of offensive rebounds.
  • The bench added 20 points for the Cougars.
  • The Cougars scored 20 points off of 24 forced Bobcat turnovers.

  • Chatham will be back on the court November 30th at 5:30 pm when they travel to Saint Vincent College to take on the Bearcats.

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
