Chatham falls in home opener

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – NOVEMBER 18th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars opened their home schedule in a conference match-up against the William Smith Herons. Chatham dropped the contest 4-2.
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (0-5-0 ECAC West, 0-5-0 overall) William Smith (3-4-0 ECAC West, 1-4-0 overall)
  • Location: Alpha Ice Complex in Pittsburgh.
 
How it happened
  • Sophomore Michelle Jones (Scarborough, ONT/Barrie Sharks PWHL) netted her first goal of the season in the second period, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
  • Junior Cassidy Colhoun (Kincardine, ONT/Kincardine District Secondary School) also found the back of the net in the second period making it 3-2 Herons.
 
In the goal
  • Junior goaltender Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, ONT/Thunder Bay Queens) played the entire game for the Cougars, allowing four goals on 25 shots.

  • The Cougars host William Smith College to round out the weekend at home tomorrow against William Smith at 2:30 pm. Live stream and stats will be available.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
