Cougars Fall in Final Home Game

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – OCTOBER 29th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars hosted the Grove City Wolverines in their final game of the season. The Cougars fell 3-0. 
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (8-23 overall, 4-14 PAC) Grove City (11-20 overall, 8-10 PAC)
  • Location: Athletics and Fitness Center at Chatham University.  
 
On the court
  • Chatham fell to Grove City with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 25-21.
  • The Cougars tallied 25 kills, 56 digs and seven blocks in today's match.  
 
At the net
  • First Year Justyne Lasher (Kittaning, Pa./Armstrong) led the Cougars with 11 kills.
  • Lasher also earned four blocks and one service ace.
  • Sophomore Katelyn Gonos (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt) earned seven kills.
  • Sophomore Maggie Fleiner (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) recorded three blocks for the Cougars.
  • First Year Delaney Gordon (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) tabbed three blocks as well.
 
Assisting the attack
  • First Year Mckenzie Bates (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) recorded 13 assists.
  • Sophomore Emily Brozenick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carlynton Jr-Sr) added 11 assists.
 
Defending the court
  • First Year Sydney Stevens (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) recorded 16 digs for the Cougar high.
  • Lasher was close behind with 15 digs.
  • First Year Belen Brown (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) posted 9 digs.

  • This was the final game for the 2016 Volleyball season. Chatham has had the winningest season in school history. Congrats Cougars for a great season!

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
