Cougars Swept by Saints

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – OCTOBER 23rd, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars hosted the Saints of Thomas More this afternoon. Thomas More swept Chatham 3-0.

  • Location: Athletics and Fitness Center at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pa.  
 
On the court
  • Set scores were 25-21, 25-12, and 25-12.  
  • The Cougars recorded 17 kills and 54 digs.  
 
At the net
  • First Year Justyne Lasher (Kittaning, Pa./Armstrong) posted seven kills.
  • First Year Belen Brown (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) added in five kills.
  • First Brooke Petrillo (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) recorded one service ace.
  • Sophomore Katelyn Gonos (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt) earned one block.
 
Assisting the attack
  • First Year Mckenzie Bates (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) finished with 14 assists.
 
Defending the court
  • Lasher led the backline with 14 digs.
  • Bates grabbed nine digs.
  • First Year Sydney Stevens (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) chipped in eight digs.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
