Presidents Defeat Cougars

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – OCTOBER 22^nd, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars hosted the Presidents of Washington and Jefferson today. W&J beat Chatham 3-1.

On the court

Set scores were 25-12, 25-15, 16-26 and 25-21.
Collectively, Chatham posted 35 kills, 91 digs, nine blocks and five service aces.

At the net

First Year Justyne Lasher (Kittaning, Pa./Armstrong) totaled 14 kills.
Sophomore Katelyn Gonos (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt) recorded 11 kills.
First Year Belen Brown (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley HS) chipped in six kills.
Lasher recorded three service aces.
Sophomore Emily Brozenick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carlynton Jr-Sr) and Sophomore Maggie Fleiner (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) each earned a service ace.
At the net for the Cougars were Fleiner and Lasher recording eight and five blocks respectively.
Gonos added three blocks.

Assisting the attack

First Year Mckenzie Bates (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster HS) recorded 24 assists.

Defending the court

Fleiner led the backline grabbing 20 digs.
Lasher was close behind with 19 digs and Brown with 18.

Chatham is back on the court tomorrow October 23^rd in PAC play when they host the Saints of Thomas More at 1 pm.
