Cougars Fall to Tomcats

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – OCTOBER 19th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars fell to the Thiel Tomcats this evening 3-0.  
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (4-8 PAC, 8-17 overall) Bethany (4-10  PAC, 10-16 overall)
  • Location: Beeghly Gymnasium at Thiel College in Greenville, Pa.  
 
On the court
  • The Cougars fell to the Tomcats 25-14, 25-15, and 25-16.  
  • Chatham recorded 25 kills, 42 digs and three service aces.  
 
At the net
  • First Year Justyne Lasher (Kittaning, Pa./Armstrong) finished with a team high 19 kills.
  • Junior Iman Morgan (Sharon, Pa./Sharon HS), First Year Belen Brown (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley HS), and First Year Justyne Lasher (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong HS) each earned a service ace.
 
Assisting the attack
  • First Year Mckenzie Bates (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster HS) recorded 17 assists.
 
Defending the court
  • First Year Sydney Stevens (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) and Brown each had 10 kills on the backline.
  • Bates finished with seven digs.
 
 
Up next
  • Chatham is back on the court October 22nd when they host the Presidents of Washington and Jefferson at 1 pm.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
