Chatham Holds off Geneva, 1-0

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – OCTOBER 12^th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars defeated the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in double overtime this evening.

How it happened

The Cougars outshot their opponent 28-10.
17 shots were taken in the second half alone but Chatham wasn't able to hit the back of the net until double overtime.
Junior Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) scored the game winning goal in the 100^th minute assisted by Sophomore Anne Radzanowski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley). This is Sieg's eighth goal of the season.
Senior Skylar Benjamin (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) led the Cougars with eight shots.
Sophomore Julie Bruening (Madison, Ohio/Madison), First Year Victoria Vernail (Purcellville, Va./Loudon Valley) and Sieg took five shots a piece.

In the goal

First Year Elayna Burdelski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) was in the goal for the Cougars. She made five saves for the shutout against Geneva.

The Cougars are back in action on Saturday, October 15^th when they travel to Thiel to take on the Tomcats at 2 pm.
