Cougars Fall To Stevenson in OT, 1-0

Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - JANUARY 2nd, 2016 -- The Chatham Cougars (3-6, 1-5-0 ECAC West) took to the ice against the Stevenson Mustangs (10-0-1, 5-0-1 Colonial) looking to open the second semester schedule with a win against an unbeaten opponent.

The Cougars gave the Mustangs all they could handle and then some before dropping game one of the two game series 1-0 in overtime.

After nearly a month off, the Cougars didn't miss a beat and played a stout game both offensively and defensively.

The Cougars put 32 shots on goal, a number of which were quality chances, but just couldn't get one passed Stevenson goalie Sarah Modzelewski.

Possibly the brightest spot on the evening for Chatham was the outstanding goaltending by sophomore Sydney Isbell.

For the first time since injuring her knee against Plattsburgh State on November 14, Isbell got the start between the pipes and stopped 23 of 24 shots faced.

The only blemish for Isbell was the overtime goal scored just 43 seconds into the overtime period by Stevenson's Chelsea Blackburn.

Chatham returns to the ice tomorrow afternoon at 4 pm at the Reisterstown Sportsplex and will look to hand Stevenson its first defeat of the season.
