Waynesburg Outlasts Chatham; 80-69

Box Score WAYNESBURG, PA - JANUARY 16th, 2016 -- The Chatham University Men's Basketball team traveled to Waynesburg University this afternoon for a Presidents' Athletic Conference game against the Yellow Jackets. Chatham was looking to keep their winning streak alive, however the Yellow Jackets would defeat the Cougars by a final score of 80-69. Chatham is now 3-12 overall, and 3-5 in the PAC.

The Chatham University Men's Basketball team suffered a tough loss this afternoon. The Cougars trailed by 17 points at halftime, but managed to climb back within striking distance of the Yellow Jackets. Chatham trailed 63-60 with just 7 minutes left in the game, but the Yellow Jackets found a way to maintain the lead, and earn their third win of the season. 

Chatham was led on offense by First Year Forward Alex Schoppen (Gibsonia, Pa. / Pittsburgh Central Catholic), who would finish with 16 points adn 6 rebounds. Sophomore Forward Logan Hunter (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield) would finish the game with 14 points, and First Year Guard Anthony Bomar (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park) would chip in 10 points respectively.

Chatham would force 18 Yellow Jackets turnovers in the game, and would score 18 points off of them. Chatham led early in the game, but once the Yellow Jackets grabbed the lead with 16 minutes left in the first half, they would never look back.

The Chatham University Men's Basketball team will return to the hardwood on Wednesday, January 20th, when they travel to Thomas More. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
